“Share the Table” – a fundraising event will benefit deserving local charities. There will be five holiday tablescapes on display and each will feature a celebrity-inspired centerpiece. Stop by and vote for your favorite! December 4th, 7pm, Ethan Allen will announce the winners and which table design got the most votes!
Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the local charity of each celebrity’s choice.
Celebrities and their charities: Terry Haas, The Center for Women; Mickey Bakst, Lowcounty Food Bank; Dave Williams, East Cooper Community Outreach; Mary Edna Fraser, Big Brothers Big Sisters; Debi Chard, Women Making a Difference.
Mary Edna has produced a one-of-a-kind napkin set for this event.

What is “Climategate” and why does it concern all of us? Join Dr. Pilkey, the James B. Duke Professor Emeritus of geology at the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, for a discussion of his new book, Global Climate Change: A Primer. Learn why he believes some people work to obfuscate facts to the harm of all life. He will be joined by Mary Edna Fraser, whose silk batiks, based often based on satellite images, beautifully illustrate the book. Dr. Pilkey will also briefly discuss The World’s Beaches: A Global Guide to the Science of the Shoreline. Dr. Pilkey and Ms. Fraser will be available for book signings after the reading.

Complimenting the closing of Our Expanding Oceans at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh, Aerial Inspirations opens in the Nature Art Gallery, the museum’s exhibit space upstairs from the gift shop. Meet the artist on First Friday, November 4, 6:30-8:30 pm. Our Expanding Oceans closes November 6th, but will be viewable until 7 pm during the opening of Aerial Inspirations.
