Mary Edna's 78" x 47.5" batik on silk "From Lincoln Peak" was recently selected for display on the home page of the Environmental Defense Fund. Creators were asked to imagine the world with 100% clean energy by 2050, and for us that means protecting our natural resources first and foremost. This view depicts Lake Ellen Wilson and Lincoln Lake from 7,450 feet via Gunsight Pass Trail in Glacier National Park....

Black River Cypress PreserveJune 17th, 2021

"On June 10 - 12, 2021, John (the Dr. Babe) and I travelled 90 minutes outside of Charleston to the Black River Cypress Preserve. Celie Dailey, who wrote The Batik Art of Mary Edna Fraser and managed my studio for 15 years, is the botanist there. We rode bikes 2.5 miles to the kayak landing, then had a gorgeous experience visiting a millennial cypress in its swampy home..."

BIG Thank You to Cori McIntyre for hosting & being Mary Edna's dutiful "art sherpa" during a cold February visit to Dewees Island due north of Charleston, SC. The barrier island is a nature preserve accessible only by boat, flocked with shorebirds and filled with cypress groves. Mary Edna immersed herself in the unique environment to create several new paintings, coming soon to the site!

Barbados Room at Mills House InstallationAugust 3rd, 2020
