Spring Marsh

Commissioned in 1985, Spring Marsh is a framed batik resale in my studio now. This 66″ x 38″ piece is a very serene aerial landscape of Broad Creek on Hilton Head Island, where my brother Burke often took me flying. In the 70s I curated Fox Grape Gallery which was the entry to Doug Corkern’s Architectural Firm. We had fabulous openings and featured many famous South Carolina artists. The Halsey Family of artists, Ten of Us, included Peggy Howe, Betty Mueller-Roemer, Mary Whisonant, Michael Tyzack, Jon Michel, and many more. I was able to batik outside next to the pool and could bring my dog Emy to work. Fond memories of those talented people and HHI friends!
