The Dewees Island Arts Council & The Dewees Island Conservancy invite you to an exhibit featuring Mary Edna Fraser at the Huyler House Gallery, September 17 – November 17, 2021.
As an environmental activist artist, Mary Edna has been creating oil paintings on location for Dewees over the past year. The spirit of the island is captured through her work, and the spectacular collection stretches from the ceiling to the porches. On exhibit will be oils, original batiks, a selection of silk scarves and more. All are available for sale, including 14 small (6″ x 4″ – $125) and 12 large (18″ x 24″ – $2,200) plein air pieces.
The Opening Night Reception will be held Friday, September 17th, 5:00 – 8:30 pm at Huyler House Gallery on Dewees Island, SC. “Capers Walk” (pictured above) will be auctioned to benefit the Dewees Conservancy’s mission to further nature conservation, stewardship and education. Charleston Waterkeeper Andrew Wunderley and South Carolina Law Project Filippo Ravalico will join us as special guests bringing their passion and perspective to our waterways.
The Reception is currently at capacity but the Exhibit at Huyler House Gallery will remain open to visitors on select dates and by appointment through November 17th. Please reserve your space in advance! View available times and sign up for the Ferry HERE.
