Silk Painters International workshops at Arrowmont
It was a blast teaching two classes of “Mapping Your Personal Landscape” batik on silk at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN, for the Silk Painters International Festival, October 5th – 12th. What a bunch talented women, 25 in all — plus the help of my daughter Reba Fraser, whom I will blog about in a separate post. Arrowmont is where I learned the art of batik from Sister Mary Remy Revor and Lenore Davis in 1975 and 1976. The next SPIN Festival will be 2021, in Santa Fe, NM, the same location where I was keynote speaker, panelist, and instructor in 2012. -MEF
